A careless visitor refuses to be taught by Duncan's driver how to drive a steam engine, and accidentally opens the regulator.
Plans are soon changed, and once the station is restored, Duncan is sent to take brake-van rides up and down the platform to help spread the congestion of passengers along the line. Back on Sodor, Skarloey finds that one of the stations has been vandalized and robbed. The Thin Controller is away on a business meeting in Wales. It is Skarloey and Rheneas' 150th birthday celebration, and the Skarloey Railway is struggling to cope with its busiest day of the year. This proves when the Troublesome Trucks cause their mischief and Percy ends up wheel deep in the field. Percy kindly offers to take it, although he knows the train is just too heavy for him. On his way, he boasts to Trevor, working in the orchard, by saying he can plow ten times more than Trevor ever could! When he meets Terence, he finds Douglas in bad shape and unable to pull his trucks of farm seed. Percy is on his way to pick up Terence to help plow the farm fields. However, the plan backfires on James when they reach their destination! However, James sees the chance to misbehave and Toby ends up coupled to the back of James' mainline train. When the shunting yards is in a mess and deliveries are being delayed, Toby is sent to help organize with James. Edward is reminded of one of the engines that used to work on his line and decides to tell them "The Story of Adam". The big engines find it funny and are discussing accident. On Halloween night, Thomas arrives back at the sheds after having a small accident on his branchline. The big engines tease Oliver and he begins to doubt he can do his job. One morning, The Fat Controller tells Oliver he wants him to work with Gordon and Henry pulling coaches. Oliver, now restored, had been working at the harbour.
While they are being worked on, Oliver tells Edward the story of how he was saved from scrap. When he gets there, he finds one of his old friends, Oliver. Soon, three lorries arrive and instead of helping, they make life harder for the engines.Įdward is sent to the works to be repaired. One afternoon, Henry arrives late at the harbour and a nearby boat suggests a lorry should take over for the engines. Summertime is always a busy time on the Island of Sodor.
